Menucha means renewal. I attended a spiritual retreat here. To me, painting out is a spiritual way of connecting. The challenge was painting outside in the rain. The camp host helped me to get a tarp set up, but things were pretty cold and damp. However, once I get painting, I pretty much block out any discomforts and time goes by very quickly. The challenge was painting the moving water. It was so complex that I believe the piece ended up being unintentionally abstract. Moving water is spiritual for me, perhaps because defining it is so elusive. A gal came upon me painting and loved the piece. She said it made her homesick for her homelandIreland. I have always wondered if Oregon and Ireland were similar.
