Oakland is a charming town and this warehouse and view attracted me. The building in my painting is somewhat altered by artistic license. I abstracted the hill in order to paint foliage without painting in every tree. If you want to feel like you’ve stepped back in time to Small Town, USA, just take Interstate 5 north of Roseburg to exit 138 and visit historic Oakland.
