The foggy background and puddled foreground are what appealed to me, as well as the roosting birds. The foreground weeds tormented me and this piece lay incompleted in my studio for several months. The problem was that the parts I had completed were so good, that I was afraid to ruin the piece by experimenting with the weeds. Finally, I was able to take the plunge and was able to complete what is now my husband’s favorite of my paintings.
